This area is usually referred to as Lincoln Square.
In addition to the previous mentions, you've got
Pannenkoeken Cafe for breakfast. And a block or two south of there on Lincoln are
Fiddlehead Cafe,
Tallulah, and
Bistro Campagne.
As for recent experiences, earlier this year I ate at Pannenkoeken Cafe, and frankly, I was underwhelmed. I ate brunch at Bistro Campagne a couple of weeks ago and it was very good; I particularly enjoyed the ability to follow traditional breakfast entrees with the assortment of French desserts (pot de creme!).
