All right you got me. Punctuation does serve a purpose. Mr. Langenderfer would be very disappointed in me. Although not part of the Twitter generation, I may have been trying to fit in and be cool. (oops using "cool" might exclude me from the sought after group) {do I need another period here, or should I have refrained from the earlier use after the word "cool"?}
Donuts were outstanding. The chef de fryer spoke up, correcting the salesperson, as to the eta for fritters. Definitely worth the five minute wait. Glazed and chocolate covered devil's food cake donuts two minutes out of the freezer are a new taste sensation for me. I can buy two dozen now. We bought eight watermelons at about a four dollar a melon discount. They were not the best I have ever eaten, but better than the local supermarket. Top Notch on the way home was a great treat. Best griddle burger I have had in a long time, juicy and not overcooked.
Thanks for the info and the lesson from Strunk's Elements of Style.
