Hey all. We recently moved to the Bucktown area from out of state. My parents are coming up for a weekend and we wanted to take them to a cool place, good food choices (Mom eats mostly vegetarian, Dad is a meat lover), not too ethnic, with a good vibe, maybe less than $15 per person. Our go-to is usually Piece because it's easy. But I'm having a hard time finding places to walk, or even take the El to, that offer lunch on Saturdays. I was thinking maybe Owen and Engine?

I promise that I did a search for lunch before posting this! This is such a great forum so I'm anxious to see the replies.
    Thanks in advance!

I'm probably not a great authority to calibrate what "not too ethnic" could mean, as I fiercely love the ethnic dives. (Motto: The spicer the better; The more water stains on the ceiling tiles, the better; The less English spoken, the better.) Also, I gave up on "vibes" years ago - my ideal restaurant scene is byob, insanely good food, and a table to eat it on - utensils not really needed. BUT, for some reason, my noggin is telling me to suggest Irazu. Maybe this would work out well. Take a peek:

The Brown Sack also, depending on where you are, and what you think might be too much travel. It's not gonna be far, but you make the call.

Thanks for the good suggestions. I looked through them and will continue to monitor the thread.

Not sure why my thread was renamed - it's not accurate. I don't need a transport-accessible place. Weird that it was hijacked like that. Is it typical that threads are renamed?

Have you looked at places near the Logan Square Blue Line stop? Lula Cafe, or brunch at Longman and Eagle?

I don't think they are renamed, usually, though you do mention you want El and walking suggestions.

Grassfed is open Saturday lunch, as is Feast. Both are on Damen just North of North. Birchwood Kitchen, on North, a bit further West is also open for lunch.
    Leek

It's fine really. Just made it sound like we had someone that was handicapped in our party, like needing a wheelchair or help walking. Which isn't the case.

    Thanks for the suggestions all.

Perhaps if it had been changed to "transit-accessible" instead of "transport-accessible", the meaning might have been clearer.

We live in Bucktown and frequently take the el up to longman and eagle. And they serve lunch in your price range
