No need for the sarcasm. It's pretty uncommon to be able to get a doggy bag with all-you-can-eat. After all, what would stop someone from ordering enough for a family, not eating it and then carrying it out?

In my experience if the food's on your plate, you can take it. Even at an all-you-can-eat buffet. The marginal cost to the restaurant of the extra few slices of pizza, couple of samosas/pieces of tandoori chicken, etc, is negligible.

And considering it sounds like they already have a system in place to prevent people from taking too much advantage (all-you-can-eat up to one pizza per person), it's really not that big a deal. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn't let you take your pizza.

But it's not worth arguing over.

I have also been to Coopers-was hoping for more based upon all the hubub about the fresh everything-I had the recommended brisket with a salad-salad was excellent-brisket took about 45 minutes-a tad fatty, and not all that-the waiter/bartender/cook(i think he did it all that evening) claimed that it was a bad piece, but did not offer to take it off our tab-my friend got that lasagna and was very pleased, although not with the sweet marinara sauce. finished with their home made ice cream sandwiches which again were average...the beer was cold and a great selection. Prices were reasonable. i will give it another try, but I still would head back to Joey's before Coopers.

Not that it's strictly relevant, but doesn anyone remember a long Reader article a year or so ago detailing an endless feud between Joey's and either another tenant of the adjacent strip, or the landlord over parking? No one came out of it looking swell.

I remember when Joey's first opened there was a feud between the restaurant and the owner of the adjacent parking lot. Based on the article, both the restaurant owners as well as the parking lot owners came off as arrogant children who refused to give a little to help out the other. Not sure how much truth came about the article, but Joey's uses the whole episode as a shot at humor with signs posted around the restaurant and inserts within the menu mocking the situation.

Ultimately, you have a restaurant, which at night has an adjacent parking lot which remains empty because of their dispute. Parking in the neighborhood is not too bad usually, so not the end of the world, but I would think having free parking that close would help Joey's bring in a lot more business. Then again, with the way the staff operates, more business might not necessarily be the best thing for them.
