My recommendation is the Bucktown / Wicker Park neighborhood. It is within a taxi ride from RV, and has a lot to offer for food and entertainment. For great sushi, go to Mirai
http://www.miraisushi.com/, but make reservations. Best sushi in Chicago, but expensive. Upstairs for cocktails is very trendy, but smoky. Caffé Gelato closes as the end of Oct, so try to go there for desert. The girls can try one of the several bars across the street on Division. Adobe Grill is another alternative for dinner (less expensive than Mirai)
http://adobogrill.com/wickerpark/ on the South side of Division.
For Italian in Wicker Park, try Club Lucky
http://www.clubluckychicago.com/. Not the best Italian in the city, but good for a group of ladies. I would also recommend Feast (but it has been a while since I have dined there) at
http://feastrestaurant.com/. They can then go to the Artful Dodger at 1734 W. Wabansia, open til 2 AM. No cover and house music for dancing in the back.
