When it comes to the Edison Park neighborhood of Chicago (my home), Conca D'Oro Bakery is still the best Italian bakery in the area. The owner, Juliette, is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and she genuinely loves what she does for a living. Thankfully, for the rest of us, that means making some of the best homemade Italian food in the area. Her cannolis are only filled to order, and her pastries are always excellent. And her bakery style pizza with homemade Italian sausage is some of the best bakery pizza you will have anywhere.
But as good as Juliette's pastries are, her homemade meals on Saturday are truly the best. On any given Saturday, my wife will stop in, say hello, and walk away with Juliette's chicken with spinach/Italian seasonings (two orders), pork chop (two orders) with sweet peppers and roasted red peppers, a stuffed artichoke, AND her pasta with olive oil, seasonings, and broccoli for a mere $20.00. $20.00!!!!!!!!!! And when it comes to quality, nothing compares to Juliette's homemade meals. Perfection.
