Sorry for mixing my metaphors, but when I went to his websitehttp://tonygourmetgroup.com/ it still lists Lao Hunan.

I though LTHers went there recently and declared Lao Hunan persona non grata . Also I remember reading that he had sold Lao Beijing.

So ..... which of these are still OK to go. I am going to really miss Lao Hunan as their vegetarian dishes were really outta sight. Pairs4Life organized a vegetarian only dinner there a while ago that was memorable.

If it helps, the Evanston LSC still features Tony in all his glory at the entrance, for what it is worth.

    Thanks

I was wondering about LSC in Chinatown actually--since Uptown is now horrible, was thinking up maybe picking up from there to-go tonight.

We haven't noticed any drop off of quality at the Skokie LSC.

I've had only one bad meal from LSC Uptown, and the next meal I had was just as good as normal. I don't know if it was just the wrong person in the kitchen, but I definitely would not consider that location to be horrible.

Funny, when I saw the title of this topic, I thought it was actually going to be about adherence to Jewish dietary laws, rather than the more broader sense of the word as "okay, worthwhile"!

I recently had a damn good meal at the Uptown location, so I'm going to agree with this.
