Fine dining? In the Algonquin city limits? I guess Port Edwards is okay; it's an older clientele.

Just to clarify, you're talking about the customers, not the seafood, right?

There is also an Italian bistro that is about four clocks south of Port Edwards that was pretty good. The name escapes me.

We avoided Algonquin like the plague when we lived in the area as the traffic at IL -31 and IL-62 was legendary.

A bit late but, Algonquin also has Montarra, at Randall/County Line, which is a more upscale steak and "modern" American food place. There is also a Bonefish and a Biaggi's in Algonquin Commons across the street. Several decent Japanese places, a few good Chinese and a good Thai place west on Algonquin Rd.

A bit even later, but I highly recommend and love the Village Vintner. Beer & wine crafted on-premises pair with wood-fired pizzas & upscale pub food in a mellow setting. We belong to the wine of the month club, there's also a growler club.
