Our fourth and final stop of the day was at Giang Nan in nearby Monterey Park...

Dumpling Notes Quite flavourful, but entirely lacking in “juice.”

Other: I was quite keen on all of the cold plates which preceeded the xiao long bao, especially the raw, wine-flavoured crab. And, of all of the menus which we saw on this day, Giang Nan's looked to me to be the most promising. I fully intend to further investigate at some point in the near future.

Thank you for the great posts with the great photos and all the links. Makes me wish I still had a kid in college in LA so I'd have a good excuse to visit.

Great stuff Erik! Thanks for sharing. PIGMON certainly seemed like he had a great trip at LSC but now I see just how great it was!

THANK YOU, Erik and Pigmon! I am off to LA in a few weeks, and will go with XLB on the brain and armed with your recommendations.
Man : I can't understand how a poet like you can eat that stuff.
    T. S. Eliot: Ah, but you're not a poet.
