I went to the Eiffel Tower a few years ago. Keeping in mind its location 40 stories (I think) above the strip and across from "Lake Bellagio," the real draw here is not the food. Having said that, and having been seated against the windows near a gorgeous view of the dancing fountains at Bellagio, I had an excellent experience here. The service was great. I stuck with the standard bistro fare, and had no complaints. It tends to get a bad rap, so I don't know if my experience was an aberration or if people tend to have unrealistic expectations of French bistro food as it's typically no frills. (I found that the menu was comprised mostly of bistro classics, with some dishes foraying into haute French cuisine. I can't comment on the current menu.) I think if you go looking for a well-rounded experience, a night out, and having reserved a table near the windows, you'll do fine. If you're looking to be wowed by the food and don't care about the ambience, you may be disappointed.

I was at the Eiffel Tower restaurant last year with some friends. We ate in the bar and ordered just about every appetizer on the menu. No entrees. I found the food to be absolutely delicious-up to Jean Joho's standards at the Everest Room. And of course the view is fantastic.

Only tangentially related, but humorous. I have a friend who loves the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas. When we visited Paris together a couple of years ago, we headed for the Eiffel Tower there, and she was stunned to find out how much larger it was than the one in Vegas. She had no idea that the Vegas tower was a miniature.

Cynthia, it sounds like your friend may be a good candidate for Jay Leno's jaywalking! :D

Actually, she's brilliant in other areas, especially mathematics, she just hadn't been to Paris -- and hadn't thought to ask when she was in Vegas. More the absent-minded professor than flake.

Let's hope you two don't take a trip to New York soon. That might really blow her mind.

Why? Is there a New York themed place in Vegas? (I've never been to Vegas, so I don't know what the allusion is here.)

There's also the Venetian Hotel, with real canals, and Bellagio, styled after the town Bellagio on Lake Como, with a real (man-made) lake.

I'm curious if Eiffel Tower restaurant has a lounge like Stratosphere's restaurant/lounge combo?

if one's really simply going for the view, you can just pull a "Signature Lounge". I did. $15 for 2 martinis and great view of the strip from the North end.
