I am doing an Art Show in Kenosha on June 1. The show starts at 10:00 Am. I expect to be there and set up by 9:00 AM. I am looking for a decent breakfast destination between 9:00 and 10:00 in the area of the Civic Center Park (56th St. and Sheridan). Any suggestions?

There are two places that we go for "breakfast" in Kenosha. LosTaquitos-a mexican dive that serves some of the best tacos el pastor we have ever had. Their other tacos are great too. Every taco is made to order(it does take a while to mince the onions and cilantro-(no mise en place here). It is at 2700 N. 22nd Street. The other place we go is Tenuta's. 50th and about a mile west of Sheridan. It is not a restaurant but rather is an italian deli and liquor store. They make good subs and in the summer by 10 they should have the BBQ up for grilled brats with the trimmings. You can pick up a variety of cold cuts, cheese, salads, breads and italian dinners that require heat. The wine selection is good and not pricey-check the 2 for 1 specials in the back.

Thank you for the recomendations. I will definitely have to try LosTaquitos' Tacos al Pastor (I have been looking for these in SE WI for quite soom time).

Tenuta's is one of my favorite destinations in Kenosha. I usually walk out with a good supply of imported Mortadella, Tenuta's brand of Giardinara and some crusty Italian bread.

I'm a Chicagoan who escaped to Wisconsin in 1980. The two best breakfast joints in Kenosha are Frank's Diner and The Coffee Pot. I've enjoyed breakfast every Friday at Frank's Diner since crossing the state line. http://www.franksdinerkenosha.com

If you want some other good Mexican food, try Tacos Del Rey-located on the south end of Racine. Great enchiladas and other fare. We usually do a southern Wisconsin thing-go to Tenuta's and load up on Point Special Beer and wine and some food items, eat breakfast at Los Taquitos and head north to Racine for Kringle. On the way back we stop at Tacos del Rey for lunch.
