This post at Gaper's Block had me thinking about Chicago's "signature bread," if you will. New York has rye and bagels, San Francisco and sourdough are almost synonymous, but I couldn't think of a bread closely associated with Chicago.

I'm thinking some sort of pretzel roll, but only because of the New Chicago at Hot Doug's. Any ideas?

Polish rye, tortillas, Gonella/Turano rolls and S. Rosen Mary Ann poppyseed buns.

Concur with LAZ on this one. Not sure if Rosen's hot dog buns counts as "bread" though. :)
