There have been several mentions of the expanded effort to provide winter markets in Chicago, but I haven't yet seen a post with the details. Here are a couple of photos from today's market at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Oak Park.

Robin Schirmer (am I right that she pretty much runs the whole Chicago-area effort?) selling sorghum(!), honey, fresh spinach, cheeses, and assorted flours and grains.

Local meal, $7 donation to support the Harvest of Hope emergency fund. From 12:00, clockwise: squash, sausage, mushroom and apple casserole; scalloped potatoes; breakfast casserole with cheese and spinach; salad; ham and cheese sandwich. Plus cider and a yogurt.

I highly recommend getting on the mailing list, which will let you know when a market is coming to a church near you and what you can expect to find that week. It also gives you the information you need to pre-order meat and poultry from
