    Okay, so I went to H Mart this weekend, and for some reason thought the sliced pork belly would be a great idea. Got it home, and thought, hmmm......now what? Would love some help with this puppy. I have the toys? Charcoal grill, gas grill, smoker....Even an oven/stove :D Just seem to be missing a clue!!

    I went shopping at Saraga (Indianapolis) today and picked up some beautiful, sliced pork belly...no definite intentions, just looked really good. They've been revamping this wondermart of international edibles; carrying more house-made(or at least packaged) products and upgrading their somewhat scruffy past. There's a halal butcher on one side and a pristine seafood counter carrying whole fish, head on shrimp etc to the opposite. I also saw tasty looking goat chops and parts all kinds from silken sheets of pigskin to bulls' "eggs." Also, mosaics of shabu-shabu ready thinly-sliced meats. They're doing a really nice job with the revamp.

    so...now, I too, am in the "have pork belly" what next situation...will post when I decide the best way to go.

    This is one of my and my Korean-American boyfriend's favorite things to eat. We get sliced pork bell (sam gyeop sal) from H-mart all the time. We usually cook in on one of those indoor grills - though I'm sure grilling on an actual grill would be good, too. You could also cook it in a pan on the stovetop in a pan like bacon. The dipping sauce Koreans usually serve is sesame oil with salt and pepper mixed in. Dipping fatty meat in more fat sounds like a lot, but it's delicious. We usually eat it with Kimchi or whatever Korean sided dishes (panchan) we have on hand and soju!

    Thanks so much. We always have kimchee, picked up panchan, but looked at it at home and thought....bacon???? On the grill it goes!!
