A number of years ago, I made a Chinese red-cooked lamb dish that called for yellow bean paste. I believe the brand was Koon Chun. I'd like to make the dish again.
Searching the Internet now hasn't been of much use. I find yellow bean paste from Thai suppliers, but no Chinese yellow bean paste. Any ideas about the subject?

Should be easy to find. Just got some at Broadway Supermarket (adjacent to Dong Ky in strip mall at B'Way south of Argyle). Also, the Thai yellow bean paste is, as I understand (and taste) it, one of several ethnically Chinese staples used in Thai cooking. So, one Thai brand probably won't vary from any given Chinese product much more than the various Chinese pastes differ from each other, if that makes any sense.

Thanks for the info. I need to be in the Argyle/Broadway area a week from Tues and will stop and pick up some.
