Does anyone routinely buy cheeses on line from a cheese shop? What are some good ones? I am looking for a place that you can buy individual cheeses not just gift baskets etc. thanks.

I received a cheese-of-the-month gift from Artisanal a few years ago. Their website no longer lists this, but you could call and see whether they will do individual cheese orders.

I enjoy the cheeses from Cato Corner Farm in Colchester, CT. They are also tatterdemalion and PIGMON approved. (Jacques Pepin is a fan, too, according to their salesperson.) They do direct orders. There is a 10 dollar flat shipping fee to the Chicago area. Pastoral often carries some of their cheeses.

Murray's in NY or fromages.com (from France) are the best.

Try Roelli Cheese Haus, Shullsburg, WI, where one can find Dunbarton Blue, a tasty blue-veined cheddar.
