    Hi all,

I recently snagged one of those cheap Dutch ovens Cook's Illustrated recommended so highly (sold only at Target, of all places). The one catch is that the knob is only heat resistant to 350 degrees. Does anyone know how I can go about buying a tougher Dutch oven knob - just the knob - or is there is any way around the heat restriction?

    Thanks!

Might you specify exactly what a "dutch oven knob" looks like? Perhaps I'm being obtuse, but the only dutch ovens I'm aware of are single piece(w/cover...no knob) cast iron, enamel-coated or not. I own a Le Creuset aluminum stockpot with lid + synthetic knob, but these aren't designed to go in the oven.

    Note the knobs.

Le Cruset knobs are safe to 450.

There was just another thread about this exact thing. Have a look over here:

As I said in the other thread, I replaced the knob on my cast oven cheap model with a cabinet knob from Home Depot, metal and cost around $1.95. It has lasted a couple of years so far.
