I know that we are not the only parents in LTH-land who have to constantly monitor what our peanut/treenut allergic kids eat. And after a visit to the emergency room a year or so ago, I now know that the ubiquitous statement "May contain traces of nuts" on nearly every cookie and piece of candy these days is, unfortunately, true and problematic for our son.
So I'm happy to have found one brand of cookie,
Dare, from Canada, which manufactures all of its cookies in factories which are peanut and tree nut free. Here's a link to details about this on their website, for anyone who may be interested:

The Treasure Island on Elm has three kinds of Dare cookies, maple creme, double fudge, and coconut creme, for $3.19 for 350g. I've only had the double fudge so far, which were great, but will be trying the maple creme later this evening, I bet.
If people have seen Dare cookies elsewhere, I'd be interested in hearing where, or if anyone knows of other manufacturers who are doing this.
