    HI,

I will gladly attend. Helen will likely attend. If she cannot, I will advise.

    Regards,

I'm guessing that for obvious reasons this is no longer happening?

In that area, which has very dynamic fuel prices, check gasbuddy.com. I play the cheap gas game, which means I am mad at myself when I pay a penny more! :D

Don't think I can make it now... That little bit extra puts it out of range to get back and forth in a reasonable overlong lunch.

Forgot to mention- this location is cafeteria style. I'll get there's early to secure table space. We can discuss a plan of attack after we've arrived.

Lunch was awesome. I'll post details later in a new Big Ed's thread after my BBQ induced nap.

I hope you all enjoyed your lunch at Big Ed's. Once the locale got switched to Waukegan, I knew I couldn't take enough time from work to join you --- and that was before my car got smashed up and wasn't available anyway.

I didn't want to negatively influence anyone before the lunch, but I was quite disappointed with the carryout we got from Big Ed's a few weeks ago (from the Libertyville location). Sweet Baboo brought home slabs of ribs for himself and a friend and a brisket sandwich for me. The brisket sandwich was a big disappointment: four very dry slices of brisket on a bun, no sauce, total meat thickness maybe a quarter of an inch. I don't know how the ribs were but the brisket sandwich was hardly worth eating, and I was annoyed about what my husband paid for it, and about the total bill. I really like beef brisket, so I'd be willing to try Big Ed's again to see if I get a better-quality serving of it next time. I'll report back.

    Hi,

Since Ed is slicing the meat in front of you, you could make a judgement call pretty fast.

Well, as I said, it was carryout. I think my husband arrived to pick it up after it was packaged.

I got that, but a fail-safe is to be there when it is assembled.
