Who's ready to get messy this weekend?
WHAT IS A BOODLE FIGHT?
Well, I'm not an authority on the subject, but from what I've found out about it with my limited research:
It has its roots in Filipino military. It was a communal dining experience where regardless of rank, soldiers would dine as one using only hands to eat. Typically the food is spread out on banana leaves on one table. Any dish from the Philippines would be acceptable, even soups and stews are common, so the theme is actually pretty open to anything Filipino. Think of it as a Filipino smorgasbord.
It is only briefly mentioned on LTH, and nothing first hand, only as an observer
over here. There is not much about the subject on the internets, no wikipedia entry, but here are a few random links.
Here.Here., and
Here. Prior years, newcomers from time to time get lost trying to find the spot. It is just north of montrose beach, but that doesn't mean it's on montrose, and it's not exactly on the beach either. It is actually just a little north of Lawrence Ave. Please look at the map and answers to other questions here: FAQ AND SCHEDULE.
RSVP below, and please let me know what you plan to bring. You can also RSVP, invite friends, and join the conversation over at the
Facebook event page. For the details, like where, when, what to bring, etc, please see:

Part of the secret of a success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.
