Sunday June 24th, 2012
Breakfast and departure for a guided visit of San Sebastian, a breathtaking city currently vying for the title of Europe’s cultural epicenter. We will start with our guide in Igueldo and its panoramic views, continuing by the Palace of Aiete, the Museum of Science and the Museum of Miniatures, where the most emblematic buildings of Guipuzcoa are represented. Continuation towards the Town Hall and the more attractive areas of the city. Lunch at Akelarre a three-star Michelin restaurant (drink included) During the afternoon, we’ll have a guided visit of San Telmo Museum (the museum of the Basque Society). Afterwards, we will return to the hotel, leaving the evening open for you to dine and visit San Sebastian on your own accord.
Monday June 25th, 2012
Breakfast and departure for Bilbao. We will have a guided visit of the city, most known for its art, theatre, old town, historical buildings, and lively festivals and night life. The densely populated city has picturesque design and gives breathtaking views on the mountains and sea. We will follow the city tour with a visit of the Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Gehry and opened to the public in 1997. The museum’s primary installations are constantly revolving, but focus predominantly on the works of 20th century artists. There will be a typical lunch in Bibao followed by free time to explore the city in the afternoon. We will reconvene at the hotel and have dinner in town at restaurant Kukua (drink included). Back your bags and prepare for checkout in the morning.

Breakfast and departure for Pamplona, city famous for its annual running of the bulls. Guided visit of Pamplona with focus on the internationally renowned tradition. Departure for the caves de Montjardin, visit and degustation and typical lunch in the cave area (drink not included). We will head toward Estella on the road of St. Jacques of Compostelle. Departure for Biarritz. Checking in at the Hotel Mercure (The President). Dinner at the Casino Barriere (drink included).

Breakfast and departure towards the vast Bearnais vineyards at Jurancon. Visit and wine tasting followed by lunch at Chez Ruffet (two star) (drink included). During the afternoon, we’ll stop at the Feerie Gourmand, a confectionary workshop and museum run by Francis Miot, a nationally recognized top craftsman confectioner. Return towards Biarritz, where we will dine at the restaurant Les Rosiers (drink included) and then return to the hotel.

Breakfast and departure towards St Jean de Luz, where we will have free time to walk and survey the port. Continue towards Biriatou for lunch in the Jardin de Bakea (drink included). Afternoon passage through Hendaye for a sea trip spanning the Corniche Basque. Return to Biarritz for dinner at Blue Cargo on the beach (drink included), return to the hotel.

Breakfast and departure for Bayonne, where we will visit Pierre Ibailalde for a visit and degustation of the Jambon de Bayonne,” the town’s famous air-cured ham. Continuation towards St Pee Sur Nivelle for lunch, at l’Auberge Basque (drink included). Continue towards la Rhune, the mystical summit of the Basque country that dominates the countryside at an altitude of 900m. Here, we will take a typical train ride, climbing up the steep slopes over a distance of 8km, round trip. Return towards Biarritz in the late afternoon for our final dinner at Albert (drink included). Return to the hotel.
