I watched it this past week when I was in San Francisco. I thought it was a well made "documentary" on the behind-the-scenes of the restaurant. Interviews with him, his sons, his apprentices (past and current) gave me great insight to the reason why sushi masters in Japan do what they do.
I was in the theatre with a bunch of young hipster-ish people, which surprised me since I expected a low turnout. But it was half full! I am not sure if it's because I take the dedication of sushi masters too seriously, but it was pretty annoying to have the everyone laughing when they were talking about all the hard work they had to go through to master each element of making great sushi. There were some chuckle worthy moments, but none that I actually laughed out loud. It could have been me, but I thought it was a little disrepectful...
