    Peter Luger Sauce

I brought back a few bottles of this sauce and had it last night on some meat loaf and potatoes – it was very good on both. I appreciate versatility in a condiment.

This sauce has got a horseradish kick, a musky sweet tamarind note, and a whiff of anchovy.

I'm a huge fan of Peter Luger's steak sauce... especially on thick slices of tomato and raw vidalia onion in the summertime. Fox & Obel usually carries it in a small cooler right next to the meat case.

I've also found it at Treasure Island on Ridge Rd. in Wilmette, for what it's worth. . . . .Also a source for Fanny's Salad Dressing, a guilty pleasure of mine.

I just saw Luger's sauce at Garden Fresh market- $5.95. Thanks for the heads up on the Fanny's dressing. Does Treasure Island carry Fanny's meat sauce? I know Cub foods had Lum Taylor's bbq sauce (another Fanny's thing) but i don't like it.

They (Treasure Island in Wilmette) have Fanny's meat sauce in a frozen packet or a jar. Never had the jar. The frozen replicates the restaurant experience pretty closely.
