    LTH,

Our 32nd annual Holiday Party was a smashing success, terrific food, engaging conversation, bountiful spirit (both booze and seasonal) and only one major fist fight the whole evening*. :)

Co Event Captains Hammond and Cathy2 were the epitome of organization and many LTHers pitched in, Pigmon on Booze, ReneG beer, Carolyn, Josephine, not to mention the incredible generosity of raffle participants and donations to the Food Pantry.

Here are a few pictorial highlights.

Everyones favorite of the evening, Duck Tongue.

Stir Fried Hot and Sour Shredded Potato

Ed's did a very nice job of passing out appetizers in the beginning of the evening. Including potstickers and soup dumplings.

Seth seemed to enjoy the meal, breezing past 'it's so good I could lick the plate' to actually eating the plate. :)

Raffle was loads of fun, the LTHForum sharing spirit shining through.

Best raffle prize of the evening, the Octodog went to Mike G.
Giovanna in her best Vanna White pose. :)

House of Fine Chocolate cake was chocolate overkill, in all the best ways.

Music, arranged by Hammond, the perfect accent to an enjoyable evening.

We had quite a crowd, 68 at last count.

Hammond settling up with Ran was one indicator the party was winding down.

Though when Steve Z starts chugging tequila you know the evening is coming to an end, fast. :)

About 20 of us went to the Skylark (22nd/Halsted)

And, I have it on good authority, four stalwarts even made a 4am run to San Soo Gap San.

A sincere thank you to Ran and Ed of Ed's Potsticker House, and all involved, Ellen and I had a terrific evening and are looking forward to next years event.

    Enjoy,
    Gary

Yes, once Dickson admitted that I do exist, which occurred at the same moment as my powerful left fist rebounded from his schnoz. And thus another holiday miracle, as we produced a corroborating proof to Dr. Johnson's argument on the matter (so to speak). Love the philosophical spirit (and tough hides) of this group.

That said, it was a truly fine and spirited time and Mrs. JiLS and I took home some great loot (thanks to VI and ReneG) and great memories of the event. Although after watching Hammond's reaction to the duck tongue (honestly, did they HAVE to include the duck's bill), I took home none of that. Reminded me a bit of that first, proto-LTH dinner of many moons ago at Moon Palace [insert your own link to that other food website] in which I was introduced to this little tribe, including ironically enough, Mr. Dickson, who hosted that event and was the first one of this group with whom I shared kind words, good food and plentiful drink. Cheers and happy holidays, folks!
    JiLS
