A set of photos that show 200 calories worth of various foods, from highest weight to lowest.

    e.g. 1425 grams of celery = 28 grams of butter = 200 calories

I found it confusing at first, because it was hard for me to tell how much was really in each photo. But if you click through on one of the pictures you get a view of the entire plate or bowl with the food on it, making the comparisons very vivid.

And if you think about how there's about 450 grams in a pound, the first photo is over 3lbs. of celery.

200 calories in 1425 g or 50.27 oz of celery. Reminds me of something I heard/read a long time ago - you can burn more calories eating celery than you gain from it. I don't know if this is true.

By eating that plate of celery I could get my weight training in putting the plate together and taking it to the table followed by my aerobic exercise by masticating. :)

I think such a celery diet could be marketable... Just promise me a bloody mary at the end of each stalk :D.

These pictures remind me of the books of Howard Shapiro (like this one). His books really help me lose weight whenever I start to puff up too much. What I like about Shapiro is that he emphasizes choice. I was just thinking about his approach this New Year's when I resolved not "to eat less," but to "eat fewer calories."
