    Hello LTH,

I promise that I spent a long time searching, but I can't find it...

I recall reading something recently about a restaurant which was MLK Jr's favorite in one of the posts. I have tried using many search words, including the site:lthforum.com trick in Google, but I can't find it. Am I going crazy, or did someone post this information? I mentioned that I saw a reference to MLK's fave restaurant to one of my friends, and he is now determined to go on Mon night and I have no idea which restaurant it is. Help!

    Thanks in advance,
    asami

Can't say with certainty about his favorites, but he ate at free Ednas: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16487976/

It sure sounds like Edna's. The linked thread is about an LTH Forum sponsored lunch we had for the Interns of the Tipitina's Foundation from New Orleans.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

David, the MSNBC story is very heartwarming, and I will forward this to my buddy and probably go there Mon night with him.

Stevez, this was the very article that I read -- of course, the keyword "King" pulled up too many postings so I abandoned it, and I had been searching "favorite restaurant" not "favorite place" as ChiNOLA wrote.

Call ahead to make sure they are open for dinner.

It may not be where MLK hung his hat, but Jims on Maxwell is offering $1.50 sandwiches all day in his honor.

    HI,

Last year for Black History Month: all sandwiches were $1 Monday-Friday from 3 - 5 PM. I guess it may be same this year with the price perhaps bumped up to $1.50.
