I saw the other thread about groceries in Evanston, but I'm looking for sashimi-quality fish, mainly tuna.

Any good sources in Evanston or on the way into the city via Western?

    Thanks,
    Jay

Sea Ranch, on Dempster and Chicago, is like a mini Mitsuwa and has excellent quality sashimi grade fish. It ain't cheap, but cheap sushi isn't something anyone should be touting.

Seconded. It's the only place I will even consider going to for sashimi outside Mitsuwa.

I've only been to the Wilmette location, but assuming it's comparable, consider that a third.

H-mart now also has sashimi-grade fish. in fact, they had a huge chunk of toro on display yesterday afternoon.

We eat the non-frozen Costco ahi sashimi-style, in poke and seared all the time both here in the states, the islands and Japan; Unfortunately they haven't seemed to have it in stock lately, but at $9.99/lb it's of excellent quality and price.
