Has anyone eaten here before? I'm in Downers and just found this place online and it's relatively close to me. I guess it's near resurrection cemetery?

Seems to have a long history and was once owned by Al Capone. These is a vid clip on the webpage from a WGN newscast.

Note: Be gentle, this is my first post

I've been there a couple times. The food is OK...just consistant italian. I wouldn't go out of my way for it but I enjoyed it. Greco's, across the street, has much better italian food. The real draw of the place is its history. I don't know if it is still under the same ownership but when I was there about 4 years ago, the owner took us on a tour of the basement and showed us all the Al Capone memorabilia that he collected from the house. The house is also supposed to be haunted. The basement and upstairs are hotspots for this activity, so I was told. I did not see anything, hear or feel anything but I can say it was a bit creepy. If you are interested in the history of Chicago during Capone's heyday, this is a great place to visit. See if you can get a tour.

Sounds like it is an interesting place to go to once. Now I just have to convince my wife to go(she doesn't like "haunted" places that much).

You can help her overcome her trepidation by pointing out that there's no such thing as ghosts.

Located right across the street from the legendary Willowbrook Ballroom: O'Henry's Roadhouse, Rico D's, Frankies.. or as its known nowdays... the Irish Legend.

Yesterday was the day to revisit this historic stretch of Archer Ave., What it must have been like in the 1930's through 1950's when the Willowbrook Ballroom(aka Oh Henry Ballroom) would draw 10,000 dancers a week as well as entertainers such as Count Basie, Guy Lombardo, Jimmy Dorsey, & the Glen Miller Orchestra.

Directly across the street, the Irish Legend is a nice spot for a drink for sure(passed the test, Jim Beam and High Life in stock), old roadhouse feel, nice wood bar, etc. Impressive dining room with a seperate bar. Definitley coming back for drinks and perhaps to eat.
