Hey, can people list the 24 hour restaurants they know? I tried to search but didn't get much luck.

The only places I know of in Chicago are Tempo and Clarke's.

Hello pugsley, welcome to LTH Forum.

    Here's a start on 24-hour greasy spoons: http://www.dennisobrien.net/chicago/24-7.html

And a more general listing of restaurants: http://chicago.citysearch.com/list/24/

Pardon me for asking, but didn't you use to post on Chowhound many years ago. Your name is familiar. Just curious.

er... kudos for listing a relatively little known place like Baba's Palace... but six Steak and Shake locations out of only 20 locations?

The first list is more than greasy spoons; it also has good coverage of Mexican, fast food, and doughnut kinds of places.

    Here's another list:

So is there really no online recounting of the infamous 24-hour-a-thon? If there is, my google-fu is too weak to locate it. I swear I've seen it before.

Found it! Wasn't easy, either, but well worth the work.

Thanks for fishing out this old thread, Ann.

Wow, thanks for all the help! Me and a few of my buddies had this routine of going to Clarke's late at night/early in the morning every few weeks. But, then I heard about Tempo (here on the forum) and we tried it and really enjoyed the change of pace. Now, I think we're going to try as many 24 hour places as we can and these list will definitely be of great use.

Nope, this is the first and basically the only food forum I've been on. I've been lurking here for a while and have had some great meals due to people's recommendations (Rosebud Steakhouse cheeseburger comes to mind) but this topic was my first post.
