My husband loves restaurant chopped steak and I'm looking for a recipe. When I googled chopped steak recipes I basically got hamburgers with some sort of gravy. Is this really chopped steak like he gets in restaurants or is it something different. Help his birthday is Thursday and it would make a nice special dinner for him.

Yup. Usually a largish hamburger type affair with grilled onions, mushroom gravy (or both).

It's been years, but at my family's restaurant it was simply chopped sirloin, made into a large patty, then broiled (think large hamburger, but better cut of meat than many restaurants use for a hamburger). Then served with au jus over the top and lots of sauteed mushrooms. They cooks did spinkle a little salt and pepper on the top before broiling.
