Personally, I found my dish of
hwe do bap greatly underwhelming:
hwe do bap
But, even though it too was highly recommended by Jonathan Gold (and others), I take the blame for my experience entirely. I guess that I just don't "get" the Korean take on Japanese-style raw fish, that's all.

The pickles which started our meal, though, were quite nice. So, too, the rice. But, if I ever return, I'll be sure to explore a bit further afield. Some of the items on the tables of our fellow Korean diners looked very intriguing.
