The day before the flyer for Grand Mart, we got another flyer in the mail announcing a new Trader Joe's. And all this a week after the Whole Foodsopened that had been promised for oh, three or four years.

I drive this way on Touhy at least three times a week and haven't noticed a thing except a bunch of condos going up. (Off topic, but I'm still getting over my disappointment that Park Ridge took down a beautiful stand of evergreens for all this new development.) Anyway, it opened yesterday per the flyer. If anyone wants a further report, I'm sure I will be hitting this in the next few weeks on my way home from work.

My folks live literally 3 blocks from here and I never heard anything about a TJs opening. Amazing.

I hear ya. I grew up in P'Ridge and I'm not crazy about all the changes myself.

Having also grown up in PR, I can tell you that the loss of a few evergreens is the absolute LEAST of their problems, as new development goes....it's a terrible shame.

Sorry, topic- PR is the perfect town for a TJ's. However, that particular area of town has always been awful as far as traffic goes (between the six corners by the Pickwick, the library, and the Metra). It'll be interesting to see how this impacts traffic, and how many people stay away due to the traffic. My father has already visited the store, but I don't have any details from him.
