Does anyone know places to find Zapp's potato chips in Chicago? This New Orleans brand of chips were available all over the south, but they're hard to find up here. I have seen them at Eatzi's at Diversey & Clark, and once remember getting a single-serving bag at some po' boy shop in Wicker Park a few year ago (is it even still there?). But that's it. Any other Zapp's sightings?

Santullo's (NY-style pizza) in Wicker Park has a few varieties.

    Yes! Cajun Craw-tators!

Presumably you want more immediate gratification, but there is the Zapp's web site. You can get a 25 bag sampler for $19.95 including shipping. That's probably cheaper than buying by the bag at a sandwich shop... (hm, the sampler has 2 oz bags, so maybe not cheaper, but not very expensive...) They also have 8 packs and 16 packs of 5.5 oz bags, and you can mix and match in those configurations.

Also, just since I saw it along the way, never forget Chuck Taggart's
Louisiana food sources, part of the excellent Gumbo Pages project.

Last summer the hot dog stands at Millennium Park were selling them too, but I only remember seeing the spicy varieties.

No, it's no longer there. I've seen Zapp's around, although I can't think where. I'll check in after the next sighting.

It is difficult to describe the joy on my seventeen-year old daughter's face when she walked in the door from school, found and opened the big box of potato chips, and started eating.

I had a bag of Dirty potato chips the other day, and I'm pretty sure they were actually Zapp's in different packaging.

The bag also stated they were made in Gramercy, LA & a quick check on the dirty/zapp's websites reveals near identical product lines.

Dirty all-natural chips may be the Zapp's marketing plan for Chicagoland area.

Just sent a sampler pack to my Dad in Florida. These are great gifts...and who would not feel blessed to have a big box of delicious chips delivered to one's door?

the limited flavor runs are usually the best. I know santullo's has the creole tomato with tobasco. worth the trip just for those and a sprecher ginger beer. the best chips not homemade hands down

So I stumbled across this mail-order purveyor of Zapp's by the single bag, as well as Panola cajun potato sticks, which sound like they might be worth trying...
