    I thought I was reasonbly up on this trans fat issue, only to see this article that there are natural versus artificial trans fats:

    Maybe I was the only idiot who didn't know. It seems that the murkiness on what is "healthy" and what is not will never end.

    I guess I'll just stick with Michael Pollan's recent guide on what to eat: Real food (meaning not manufactured), not too much, and mostly plant.

    Yeah, that article also mentions Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), a naturally occuring trans fat found in meat and dairy that has been shown in studies to prevent colon cancer, and also is used to reduce body fat and increase muscle mass. So there you have it - trans fats are bad, unless they are good!
