I know it is a bit late... but I'm wondering if you all know of any restaurants that serve prime rib/turkey/ham buffet style in the north shore area?

My mom loves the Easter brunch at Allgauers, which is in Northbrook. I'm pretty sure Allgauers has everything you're looking for and more, but they may be all booked up for tomorrow.

I would call around to larger the hotels in the area you're looking at- they may have spots open for you or perhaps offer walk ins. (Hilton, Embassy, etc)

Thanks! I see that Allgauers has a brunch along with some of the hotels near here.

Our family used to go to Allgauers, but stopped a few years ago after a completely awful experience.

We used to tolerate the bad service on Easter. They used to bring extra people in, off the street apparently, who didn't have the first clue how to do anything. We'd always be short silverware and have to ask several times for place settings. They used to bring a bottle of Champagne to the table, pour two glasses, and leave. We'd have to chase them around to get them to fill the rest of the glasses.

We'd usually have to wait a half an hour or more past our reservation time to be seated.

But the last straw was a time when they had run out of food on the buffet table and weren't replenishing things. We couldn't get any oysters, lamb, carved beef, and a few other things I can't recall. They charged full price however. My mother paid the check for 8, and wrote or called later to complain and they offered her two complimentary buffets, which she never used. We haven't been back.
