By that, I don't mean bars that serve Bloody Maries, but places where you "construct" your own Bloody Mary from a buffet-ful of ingredients. I've read about such places, but I can't remember if it was around LTH or in the local print media. And I can't remember what the places were.

Has anyone been to one of these and liked it especially?

And here I'd gotten my hopes up that it was something portable, like a protein bar. ;-)

    Hi,
I know they do a build your own Bloody Mary Bar at the Fireside on N. Ravenswood on Sundays. Many varieties of hot sauce, celery salt, olives, carrots, and pickled items are aplenty. You can choose your base to be v-8 or tomato juice and then mix away. I've heard they have one also at Charlie's Ale House (but I don't really want to go to find out for sure). Hope this helps!

I don't often go in for the Sunday morning Bloody Mary bars, because it is a sure way to get nothing accomplished for the rest of the day. However, I have been to the one at Fireside a couple of times and enjoyed it, especially if there is a football game that day. The Rail, which is in the same area also offers one.

Here is a link to an article on Centerstage that lists a few other places.

The Horseshoe has a good one, and I enjoy their Sunday brunch (very good biscuits)

If you're ever up in Milwaukee check out this joint:

    Sobelman's-1900 W Saint Paul Ave, Milwaukee, 53233 - (414) 931-1919 http://www.milwaukeesbestburgers.com/Image

As you can see, their Bloody Mary is an architectural wonder. It is served in the "traditional" Milwaukee fashion with an accompanying mini beer chaser included in the price.

Click on the link and you will see they serve a pretty remarkable burger as well. They have a video camera trained on the grill and a monitor display out in the bar/dining room. You can actually watch your burger being prepared from raw patty to finished sandwich as you sit and sip your Bloody Mary. Fun stuff!

The capper is that Sobelman's, like Three Brothers; also in Milwaukee, is located in one of the few remaining old Schlitz Brewery owned taverns. It is lovingly kept up and a pleasure to visit on a hot summer day when they have sidewalk seating set up out side.

    Wow--that's a Bloody Mary.

Just wanted to thank everybody for the useful answers, and/or the chuckles.

    Riddlemay,

Both Stanley's and The Fireside have Sunday Bloody Mary bars, though I've not been to either in over a year.

Speaking of Bloody Mary's, we had a terrific one today at the Twisted Spoke. Splash of Guinness, vodka, house tomato juice mix with a bit of kick, pepperoncini, olives, pearl onions, salami and a beer back.

We sat at the bar, there was a slight wait for tables, and had a front row seat as the personable bartender constructed Bloody Mary after Bloody Mary.
