Does anyone know of a restaurant that is (or will be as it gets more into spring) serving fava bean crostini? even just a fresh plate of favas with a bit of olive oil and pecorino...

I used to get it at various italian places when I lived in San Francisco but haven't had it since moving to the midwest. Was just on the phone with my sister in Washington DC who mentioned having a too die version at 2Amys in DC (incredible place) which prompted me to try to see if I could find it in Chicago.

    Thanks for your help!

You might as well just buy some fresh fave and some good pecorino and you can enjoy them in the comfort of your own home. I just bought some very nice looking fresh fave today at the Whole Foods on Huron and will be serving them up as part of an antipasto spread tomorrow.

Here's an old thread on fresh (and dried) fave...

Marketplace on Oakton has fresh fava beans as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could find them at Enoteca Roma Winebar & Bruschetteria. I've only been once, but they had 2-3 dozen varieties of bruschetta. They're at 2144 W. Division St., 773-342-1011.

Favas are included in the strange and wonderful variety of produce found every day at La Casa Del Pueblo supermarket on 18th and Blue Island in Chicago. Good Luck.
