Another fossilized memory just bubbled up through the tarpit of my brain.
In the eighties, there was a restaurant called Ciel Bleu on top of a hotel on E. Lake Shore Drive.
Does anyone remember the name of that hotel?
Do you recall the name of the restaurant in the lobby? I believe it was a Gene Sage operation.
Getting old is starting to get old.

I remember Ciel Bleu on top of the Mayfair Regent Hotel; I believe the lobby restaurant was The Palm. There was a Gene Sage restaurant across the street from the Ambassador East, IIRC. My Dad used to love that place.

Mayfair Regent, which later went condos, I know that because... well, let's just say that we won't be one of those couples who spend their anniversary in their honeymoon suite.

Ciel Bleu R.I.P. was the home of the best Eggs Benedict to ever grace our fine city...and the view of Oak Street Beach was the perfect accompaniment.

Ciel Blue was a favorite restaurant of mine; I dined there about once a month. The restaurant had a great wine cellar. Gene Sage's, too, was a favorite. And . . . since we're remembering oldies . . . how about Toulouse on Division St.
