LTHForum and at least two prominent contributors are mentioned in the long-awaited Bill Daley article on what the heck to do with leftovers, on the front of today's Chicago Tribune Good Eating section. (EGullet and Chowhound also get some Trib lovin'.) If you're coming from that, welcome, and feel free to start poking around, the forums are pretty straightforward.

It's actually a big LTHForum day since the Cheap Eats choice is one of their better suburban choices within recent memory and a longtime fave here, Yum Thai in Forest Park.

Enjoy, and thanks to Bill for crediting us prominently in the piece.

    Hi,

The topic which Bill Daley inquired about our use of leftovers is here!

I am pleased some of my ideas were included in the article. Slight clarification, as if it is really necessary, I never stated handling leftovers is like knowing how to paint - a gift. It was really his question to me. I dug up the e-mail:

you're born with - or can it be taught???

Cathy2 or whatever my real name is... wrote:It is certainly a teachable skill but somewhat of an advanced level cooking skill. So if someone does not know how to cook, then going straight into reworking leftovers is jumping over too many learning steps.

I am not quibbling really, I think the art to reworking leftovers is having a broad culinary database. I see potential where someone else doesn't, but it came from years of reading and doing.

Anyway, anything which alerts like minded souls to our website is always welcome.
