Cuisinart Blender clutch assembly

My clutch assembly cracked and I received a replacement...unfortunately the gold screw attached to the cracked clutch will not come off the base, therefore I can't put on the new clutch. Anybody know how to get this off? I tried to unscrew it but the base just spins along with the screw.

Does your blender have a hole in the bottom? If so, it might be a location to insert a screw in order to lock the motor. This was how we changed the gears on our blenders in my bartending days.
