Sure, I often don't like Lula's, but sometimes they really nail it (not just the roast chicken).
They called it tamales, but it was more a polenta type of thing, that is the stuffing was
near the masa not
in the masa. Moreover, the corn seemed baked (or something) not steamed as in a true tamal. So, bunkers...it was tasty. It was all tasty. The stuffing, as it was, was a tender pork in a chile sauce with signficant kick. The eggs and black beans were servicable at best, yet they hardly mattered against the other parts.
