900 N. Kingsbury is just north of Chicago Avenue, just east of the river. And we'll be there early Saturday morning. Sigh. We will also be on foot. Sigh again.

Is there anything at all whatsoever in that immediate 'hood for breakfast? We'll be heading back north afterward, probably by going east to the red line. We'd prefer not to go very far out of our way since we've got a million other things to do on Saturday. So is there something walkable (or, I suppose, a short cab ride) from that out-of-the location? We really don't want to go terribly far...do we have options?

If you're walking to the red line, you're practically going right to the heart of the Miracle Mile, and steps from a host Gold Coast restaurants. You're not really as "out of the way" as you may think.

My choice would be to walk a few blocks east on Chicago to Orleans and eat at Baba's. Here's a report on an early morning meal there. It ought to be very efficient—food should be ready quickly and you'll be very near the Brown Line to take you north to the Red Line.

The mention of Pakastani breakfast reminded me of the fact that the owner of Golden Wok on Halsted said he serves egg curry and several other egg dishes for breakfast.
Never have had his breakfast. All the other food here is all ways tasty, well spiced/ & appealing to myself and my S. Indian girlfriend - and have never gotten "touched-by-the-trots" as I have at other dahbas around Chicago and Orleans.

Mainly for future searches I'll mention the name of this place is actually Flaming Wok 'n' Grill. I only ate there once and liked it pretty well. One of these days I need to try it, as well as the other nearby places, for breakfast. The main reason I singled out Baba Palace (I'm partial to Kababish) is it's the most convenient stop when walking to the Red or Brown Line.

Many thanks for all the suggestions. We leave the house in a bit and have decided to let the muse strike with our little list in hand. We do appreciate everyone's suggestions--some places new to us as well as a couple of head slappers! Hungry already....
