Nice Restaurant Special Occasion

I am staying at the Swissotel for my wife's 50th birthday. Looking for nice restaurants for Sat night but not as expensive as Trotters, Tru etc. Thinking about Kevin, it looks very nice but is it special for a big birthday? Walking distance or short cab ride away. Also, any dinner specials for Sun or Mon nights( Half off wine, special discounts etc). Thanks

Welcome to Chicago! I haven't been to Kevin but I've heard generally good things. And if you take a look around the board a bit, you'll find several discussions of restaurant suggestions for special occasions like birthdays.

About your question on dining deals, go to http://www.metromix.com and go to the restaurants page. In the left corner you'll see a section that says "Dining Deals." Click on a date and it'll give you dining and drink specials around town. They may not all be current so do call the restaurants to double check.

Kevin is, in a word, wonderful. My wife and I regularly dine at all of the "upper tier" places in town, and she just chose it for her birthday in a couple of weeks.
