Can anyone think of a good place to go before a show at Bailiwick Theatre (Belmont and Racine)? A "nice" place with cocktails? I can think of three that meet my criteria but aren't exactly quick walking distance--Erwin, Yoshi's and X/O--but something closer would be ideal. Menagerie would have been perfect, but they don't exist anymore--and I don't know anything about the restaurant that went into that location. (But I think it's more a beer place than a cocktail place.) Thanks.

Haven't been there, but Cooper's is s aid to be from the same owners of Menagerie, in the same space, so it might be worth a try.

I have been to Matsu Yama - a sushi joint for all the trixies and chads in the area.

And for pizza, this place has gotten some buzz:

I think you'll have to stroll over to Southport to find something "nice" with cocktails. We had a very good dinner at Coobah recently. Maybe not quite on the level of the places you mentioned, but very tasty and with outdoor seating, too.
