I have frequented La Condessa many times as it's in my neighborhood, but I'll admit, mainly for the gold margaritas and steak tacos. But, after reading some reviews on this board, I have decided to go a bit more adventurous on my ordering and look at the menu in a slightly different way.
I hit the jackpot on Friday night. I decided on the Filete Arriero. The menu describes it as 8 oz steak covered with arriero sauce, lemon, garlic and jalapeno. Now anything that comes with lemon and garlic, I'm almost assuredly going to like. I was expecting a thick filet with a few jalapenos, but what I got was a pounded down piece of tender meat covered in bright green fresh jalapenos, and I mean covered. Until I can figure out how to add the picture directly here is a not so good picture. It was absolutely delicious.

The other hit I always order is queso fundido con chorizo. The homeade tortillas make this so good. I always take the cheese home so we can make omelets the next morning.
The one miss here is the salsa, as it served warm, it just doesn't do anything for me when it's served warm. I wish they had a cold version.
