The Wishbone website has announced a March 21st opening for a Wishbone on Roosevelt, in a site formerly occupied by part of the well-known music venue - Fitzgeralds.

I hope this offering will help in the breakfast offerings of the near west suburbs. I recentltly enjoyed a fine weekend breakfast from the American Depot (mentioned elsewhere) - thanks to LTH forum - so perhaps things are looking up.

As an aside, does anyone know anything about the forthcoming "Trattoria 225" soon to be opening at 225 West Harrison in Oak Park?

Every time I drive by that space, I peer in -- they don't seem to have made a lot of progress in the past few months. I was under the impression it was supposed to open in January. It will be good to have an "artisanal Italian" joint in the neighborhood.

    From their website...

We finally received approval on Thursday, January 18th from the Village of Oak Park Department of Building Standards to begin construction. Our General Contractor has been chosen and we are in final negotiations with our sub-contractors to begin work. After the time spent waiting for permits, we are thrilled to begin construction!

In addition, on January 2nd, our liquor permit was approved by the Village of Oak Park Board! We are excited and humbled by their kind words and approval.

    Mmmm... 2 months later... :)

Looks like this restaurant will finally open in June. Maybe.

Beginning in December, the West Loop restaurant owned by Joel Nickson (the North Side location is owned by Mr. Nickson's brother) will operate as a pop-up dinner spot in the restaurant space adjacent to Olive or Twist. Olive or Twist, a popular cocktail lounge, closed its three-year-old restaurant this month.

This isn't Wishbone's first foray into Berwyn. The restaurant had a location next to Fitzgerald's, a music venue on Roosevelt Road, from 2007 to 2011.

Olive or Twist posted an announcement of the pop-up on its Facebook page yesterday. A spokeswoman for Wishbone confirmed the partnership and added that the restaurant could become permanent if business is good.

Never been but this has to be one of my favorite bar names ever. Perhaps unduly influenced from happy memories of my last stage performance at the ripe old age of 13 but I do think it's rather clever
