Restaurants overlooking kitchens...

My wife and I are fascinated with and therefore prefer to watch the activity in the kitchen when we go out for dinner. For example, although there are other seafood restaurants with comparable quality food, we almost always go to Roy's when we're in the mood for seafood. We have been there dozens of times, always at the counter, never been at a table once.
I am aware of the exhibition kitchens such as TRU, but what are the other good Chicago restaurants that offer a view of the kitchen while dining. TIA...

One of the best things about the Weber Grill is the long row of gigantic kettles in full view. I've never spent time to see if the chefs themselves are that interesting. I believe there are some seats where you could watch the action while you sit/dine, although I'm not sure they overlook the kitchen, like a bar or anything.

Midpack: Head to avec at an off time and grab a seat at the counter right in front of the cooks. It doesn't get much closer to the action than that.

There's a small counter at Flight where you're practically on top of the kitchen crew - every little detail of what they're doing is in sight. Nice wine flights, and other flights (like the mini-burger flight) for a former Naval Air Station (Flight, get it?)

Twist at 3412 N Sheffield Ave has counter seating that faces the open kitchen. I've been there twice--last time was a couple years ago--and it's decent, but nothing spectacular. (I believe the cuisine is accurately described as tapas with a twist.)
