Around the World in 201 Days

Hi there!
I've decided to try something from every ethnicity that I haven't eaten to date before the year's out.
So please tell me your suggestions for tasty, budget-friendly ethnic food in Chicagoland; I live in Niles, so far-out places like Aurora I'll rarely get to.
I've already tried most forms of Chinese (although I'm still looking for a replacement egg roll for the much lamented Lin's Garden version), Italian, and "Mexican". I've dabbled in other cuisines, but only one or two places and I'm thirsting for more! On my list so far are Tre Kronor, some form of Korean BBQ, Turkish Bakery, that little Lebanese place on Clark & Foster and a cheaper form of Russian Tea Time.
Thoughts? I appreciate it! Also, places with tasty ethnic desserts are appreciated.

Have you looked through the Great Neighborhood Restaurants? There's an excellent cross-section of ethnicities recommended there.

In your own thread on Russian, the address is given for Chaihanna, an Uzbekistani restaurant in Buffalo Grove -- quite good.

Andalous for Moroccan.

Queen of Sheba Cafe or Ethiopian Diamond for Ethiopian.

Tank for Vietnamese.

Taste of Peru for Peruvian.

Flower's Pot for Belizean (mostly on Saturdays).

Palace Gates for Ghanaian

Otherwise, I'd suggest picking countries and using the SEARCH function for this site. I think every possible cuisine has been mentioned. (Though our search for Indonesian food has not turned up a good option.) I believe that every place I listed has been mentioned at least once in the forum, as well.

Sadly, the only Cambodian and Tibetan spots I knew of in the city are both closed.

Flowers Pot is closed.

Tickie's may be the only remaining Belizean restaurant in town. At least, it's the only one I can think of in far north Rogers Park. I don't know if there are any other neighborhoods with substantial Belizean populations, but given that there aren't all that many Belizeans in Chicago, I'm guessing not.

Do you have a list of ethnicities? There was a thread started a long time ago that set out to catalog a restaurant in Chicago for every country or ethnicity, but obviously a phpBB thread is a pretty awkward way to collect that kind of info, and last time I saw that thread, it seemed to have lots of outdated info that wasn't likely to be kept up. I can't for life of me remember any good way to find it with a search though.
