Does anyone know of a place to buy synthetic sausage casing in the city? I know, synthetic....but I'm making a bunch of sausage for a party and one of the couples coming doesn't eat any pork. So I want to make sure they won't be left out.

Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

I've seen synthetic casings at Northwestern Cutlery on Lake St, but I suspect lots of other places near there have them.

I don't know if the ones at NW are edible.

Yeah, I had called them right before I posted - the lady said they only had natural. But thanks for the suggestion!

eta: should have mentioned that I've called Paulina, NW Cutlery and Gepperth's with no luck thus far.

I know this isn't in the city, but They are available at the Bass Pro Shops in Bolingbrook.

you might try the butera's on golf road.

    (or at least call)

i spotted packages of cellulose casings in a meat cooler there, not more than a few weeks ago.

their product selection does seem to vary between stores.

Could you make patties? That way you could use natural casings, for the links, and make some of both so they don't feel left out.
