Cheese Cloth

Where can you get cheese cloth? I've only be able to find a small package of cheese cloth at a store in Hyde Park. I'm looking for something between a package or a full bolt. I'm really tried of using coffee filters to strain stock!

I've found it at Bed Bath and Beyond in the past. Also Linens 'N' Things. Good hunting!

Fabric stores have vast quantities selling very cheap. I buy maybe 10 yards once a year for less than $10, then use it for lots of things. It doesn't come in bolts, it comes in folded over segments in a box.

The only time it may be issue getting cheesecloth is around Halloween. Crafters dip cheesecloth in heavy starch, then form them into ghosts.

You can get a reasonably small sized package at pretty much any Jewel or Dominick's. The fabric store idea is probably a better choice, though.

I buy mine at Vogue Fabrics in Evanston, Main and Sherman, just east of Chicago Av.

Whole Foods (Superior & Dearborn) has it next to the milk shelf near the door where staff goes into the cooler. Sur La Table is also a reliable source.
